Quality and Impact of the Electronic Government Projects in Chile

The State of Chile, asuming the challenge of the changes and the globalization era, has stimulate in the last years the institutional change and the efficient use of the new technologies.
This experience has shown that we bring face not only a technological topic but management. The incorporation of information technologies needs a country looking to approach a strategy that gives sense to a project to improve the quality of life and answer the expectatios of citizens.
This work starts presenting the development strategy of electronic government in Chile, meanwhile, in a second part, it analyzes the advances in electronic government, service to the citizen, good government, transparency and democracy.
The paper tackles the challenges for development of electronic government and, finally, the conclusions of electronic government projects in Chile. It also shows the details of outstandings projects which generate public value.
