Corporate Social Responsability in two Countries: Brazil and Norway
Rodrigues, Marta Maria Assumpçao ...[et al].- Oslo: Institute for Labour and Social Research, 2008.- 138 p.
The book discusses Corporate Social Responsability (CSR) in Brazil and Norway. It focuses on the social dimension of the concept, and demonstrates that Brazil and Norway have different meanings for CSR. The book outlines how various social groups in both countries define CSR, and in what ways this difference is expressed. Given the State's inablity to efficiently provide needed services as required to the Brazilian people, businesses have assumed responsability for preparing workers for the market and assisting them with their social needs. In this sense, the so called S System is analyzed as an example of CSR in Brazil, In Norway, CSR is embedded in the Nordic Model.
