Sixth Transatlantic Dialogue Rethinking Financial Management in the Public Sector
American Society for Public Administration (ASPA); European Group for Public Administration (EGPA); Department of Business and Social Studies, University of Siena, Italia School of Public Affairs and Administration, Rutgers University-Newark, Estados Unidos
The Transatlantic Dialogue is an annual conference jointly organized
by European and American scholars of public management for the
purposes of strengthening international cooperation for advancing
teaching, research and practice in the field. The effort is the
result of collaboration between the American Society for Public
Administration (ASPA) and the European Group of Public
Administration (EGPA). The conference brings together leading
experts on public management with goals of defining public
management problems, considering solutions to these problems and
generating insight regarding worldwide management challenges on the
horizon. The process for generating discussion is afforded through
intensive working groups of less than a dozen scholars each who
prepare papers around the various topics relevant to the conference
theme. This year’s theme sets the stage for intriguing yet
demanding sessions in which participants will grapple with issues
related to the changing methods and contexts for conducting public
sector financial management while regarding transparency,
accountability, performance and human capital across dramatically
fluctuating economic times and in a variety of governmental
contexts.
